What dampens the strength of the plot are its sexual innuendos and the needless songs that keep popping in frequently without adding much. It starts on a droopy note and meanders initially but once the parallel stories merge, it advances smoothly towards the jolt of its unexpected climax. The originals stand out more than adaptations here.Unlike the usual fare that compliment the actress’ bold persona, the forte of this film sprawls beyond its scintillating bits. Tony-composed party song Ek Do Teen Chaar has Neha Kakkar sound precocious. Meet Bros Anjjan sing with Monali Thakur, who gets the nuances right. Next up is their Dhol Baaje, a recreation of Ismail Darbar’s song from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.

Arijit Singh isn’t as stellar as Sonu Nigam in the original and the reworked lyrics are mundane. Main Hoon Deewana Tera is a Meet Bros Anjjan recreation of a Sajid-Wajid song. Kumaar’s clever lyrics and their folk-meets-classical-meets-western arrangement stands out. Glamorous Ankhiyaan is the hatke song with the dependable Meet Bros Anjjan (featuring singer Krishna Beura) at the helm. Khuda Bhi is on the lines of Bhatt film songs with Mohit Chauhan’s voice and Tony Kakkar’s composition. Saiyaan Superstar is a zesty number composed by Amaal Mallik where Tulsi comes out of her comfort zone. Another version with Tulsi Kumar, Alam Khan, Aishwarya Majumdar and Daboo Malik sharing the mike has Punjabi and Rajasthani folk flourishes. Pakistani pop sensation Uzair Jaswal has sung and composed it with panache. Tere Bin Nahi Laage (Male) is the best song on the CD. Composer Dr Zeus and singer Kanika Kapoor team up again after Punjabi number Jugni Ji. So, it’s no surprise that opening number Desi Look is a mischief-laden party song that fits the mood of the film. The soundtrack has been created by an ensemble cast of the current generation of Bollywood music directors known to churn out dance and romance through sound.
